Minnesota Vikings Defeat Saints in Greatest NFL Moment Ever

In a game that was steeped in history and rivalry, the Minnesota Vikings snatched a stunning victory in the dying seconds of the contest in the most unbelievable fashion.

After absolutely dominating the Saints for the first half, leading 17-0, on home soil, it was only a matter of time that Brees would get his side going and they did, forcing offensive errors from Keenum and Vikings’ players in both corner and safety positions. And once they rattled the Vikings, a team who had managed to stop any team putting up more than 10 points most of the season, the Vikes gave up 12 points without reply, bring the Saints dangerously close to taking the lead. However, the Vikes managed to claw the lead back, but then the Saints took over and used the clock to their advantage to go up 21-20 with a touchdown and field goal with 3:01 left to go. The Vikings, hoping to get into field goal range, played for distance and managed to get close enough for Forbath to kick a 53-yard field goal, making it 23-21 to Minnesota, but that wasn’t to be the final as The Saints are always a threat with Brees at the helm and so it proved to be.

With just 1:29 on the clock, Brees got the Saints into field goal range and scored again, leaving the Vikings with less than 30 seconds to try and pull off a miracle and steal the win, trailing 24-23. With just 7 seconds on the clock, Case Keenum told the huddle he was going to give somebody a chance and as the time faded, he threw the ball up the right seam and it was caught by Steffon Diggs who miraculously managed to avoid being contacted and stay in bounds. With the whole state of Minnesota roaring him home Diggs, brought it all the way home for a walk off touch down. Sealing the fate of the Saints and propelling the Vikings on to an on-the-road battle in Philadelphia against the Eagles.
