Sony have teased their latest flagship device the Sony Xperia Z1 by sharing a video via social media channels showing off some of it’s key features.

Although we can’t see much of the whole phone, we do get to see it’s 20-megapixel camera that appears to be sporting a fancy Sony G lens and Xenon flash. We also see Sony’s iconic circular power button, and a welcome new addition in the form of a dedicated camera button – this should combat the annoying challenge of using the Sony Xperia Z to take pictures/video in water (or heavy rain) as it was so sensitive that it registered water as touches.

The materials used on the Xperia Z1 appear premium which is good, but hopefully Sony have listened to fans and critics who complained about the smudge and grease loving screen/glass protector with it’s poor viewing angle range, and found a good alternative.

The Sony Xperia Z1 will likely run on Android 4.2, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, quad-core processor with 2GB RAM, and a full HD 1920×1080 resolution, 5-inch Triluminos panel. The teaser also suggests a September 4th release date for this new handset and earlier leaks showed possible Black, White and Purple colour variations. What do you make of it? We’re curious at least. More info when we have it.
