Nintendo have announced the Nintendo 2DS, a cut price 2D version of the popular 3DS portable gaming console.
The Nintendo 2DS features the same dual screens and controls as the 3DS, includes wireless connectivity and will play 3DS games, just without the 3D (which can be turned off on the 3DS anyway).
Following the 2DS announcement, Head of Nintendo America Reggie Fils-Aime, said: “Nintendo has one of the strongest most diverse video game lineups in our history…We’re making those unique Nintendo experiences more accessible and affordable.”
The new device is aimed at attracting new gamers with the more affordable pricetag of £109.99, and is set to launch on October 12 here and in the US, along with the latest Pokémon titles and just in time to find it’s way under Christmas trees – But WTF is up with it’s design? It can’t even fold so you need a “super trendy” carry case for it – they might as well make bum bags for the thing.
It looks like a waterproof fake tablet toy for toddlers or a fancy colour calculator!
