The line-up for this year’s Open’er Festival is ever expanding as more outstanding major acts confirm for 2013’s edition.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds join the Open’er bill today along with Kendrick Lamar, the new king of hip-hop, freak-folker Devendra Banhart and Poland’s most important band of the last 20 years Hey.

Checkout our favourite videos from the new additions:

Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Drank)

Kendrick Lamar has been on the fringe of major success for a number of years but with the storming success of his most recent release ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City‘ and co-signs from Hip-Hop legends Dr. Dre and Snoop have rocketed the new King of the West Coast into the lime light and he’s running with it, selling out a European tour and tearing up shows all over the shop. So expect a rowdy one when Kendrick takes the stage at Open’er – he doesn’t hold back.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – Jubilee Street starring Ray Winstone

This band is well loved amongst post-punk aficionados and their much welcomed return, the recently released ‘Push The Sky Away‘ has been received with strong critical acclaim and has once again made the masters of dark poetry a hotly anticipated name on the bill of Open’er’s main stage on July 4.

Devendra Banhart – Foolin [NSFW] (And a bit “out there” LOL)

Banhart’s music stands out with its elements of latino music, the singer’s trademark vibrato, complete with his image of New York hippie, collaborating with Beck, CocoRosie and Antony and The Johnsons. His 8th album “Mala” was released this week on Nonesuch label and has great early reviews. Recorded almost entirely on analog TASCAM gear, “Mala” reminds us that the artist we’re about to witness at Open’er this July is truly unique and unusual.

Hey – Cisza, ja i czas

I’m not gonna lie and pretend I’d even heard of Hey before I received this line-up update but doing some listening and watching of their material, and some reading into their background it’s blatantly obvious that when they step out onto the stage on home turf, the crowd is likely to go mad. Their music is a mix of grungy, throbbing and thrashing rock, fused with some experimental electro sounds. Definitely something I can fux with.

Already confirmed artists include:

KINGS OF LEON, ARCTIC MONKEYS, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, TAME IMPALA
