REVIEW: Nite Watch’s Military Inspired MX10-400T

I used to have a particularly bad habit of damaging beautiful watches, at least until I was given a Ceramic Emporio Armani last year. Since then I’ve opted to avoid wearing a watch all together if I was anticipating any wild or rough activities. But whilst this may have broken my bad karma with beautiful watches, it’s meant that if I was on a mad one or working out I would have to go without a timepiece all together, surely there had to be a better solution?

Well heDD lovers, it turns out there is!

I’ve recently discovered British brand Nite Watch, forgive me if I’m a little late to the party! Inspired by the company’s military heritage, the MX10-400T that I was given a chance to live with has a Black polymer strap and is made from PVD sealed black stainless steel with a smooth brushed metal feel, crowned with warm burnt orange accents. The first thing I noticed when taking it out of the box is that although it’s relatively lightweight, the watch has a good weight to it that says quality.

The design is understated but maintains a sense of class because it doesn’t scream “look at me!” but if you catch a glimpse of it, it nods back – cool and calm – with assured confidence. And that look of confidence carries through whilst I was wearing it, thanks to it’s rugged design, I don’t feel worried about wearing this watch anywhere – whether it’s during a workout session, out to dinner or clubbing – it seems to fit most scenarios.

Another cool feature that adds to the attraction of the MX10 and the rest of the Nite range is their GTLS illumination that will apparently provide 15 years of glow-in-the-dark power without the use of a battery – and in the dark it really does give you a sharp view of the dials and numbers.

With a price tag of £224.95, the MX10-400T positions it’s self at the top end of the high street market, but at entry level for premium watch lovers. It’s a fair price for a well-designed and tough watch that may not command attention, but certainly courts it, a number of people have remarked on the watch’s attractiveness and asked where I got it from in the few weeks I’ve had it.
