The North Face Purple Collection and The Return of a Classic

Enjoying a resurgence in popularity technical winter clothing brand The North Face is on a roll, with no sign of slowing down. Its most recent hit sees a collaboration between TNF and Nanamica designer Eiichiro Homma hitting European streets for the first time ever, under the banner of The North Face Purple brand.

The winter capsule collection is stocked exclusively at the company’s Carnaby Street store in London, which specialises in urban exploration. The extremely limited collection has been carefully curated and displayed in the store’s lower ground level and will be on sale for no longer than one month or until stocks go. And trust me, the best bits will sell out fast.

The North Face Purple Collection

For some history on The North Face Purple: the brand was conceived and launched in the early noughties and since 2003 the purple label has blended stylish casual/street wear with technical fabrics that perform in all conditions. This debut international capsule line represents the best elements of the collaboration. It’s a perfect mix of innovative world-renowned outdoors performance wear, with an iconic and minimalistic 70s hiking gear aesthetic. The earthy tones of the collection and familiar TNF cuts and silhouettes make for a winning combination across each of the 16 pieces in the collection. The standouts for us are the Sierra Parker and the Hooded Sierra Down Vest or the “Marty McFly” as my followers called it on Instagram, but there are no weak links here with everything from tops and bottoms to accessories and luggage included.

The North Face Bringing Back a Classic

And if that wasn’t enough, The North Face has also re-released a classic coat, popular in the 90s, the 1994 Retro Mountain Light GTX Jacket. Featuring original colours and bold blocking, this protective outerwear style jacket features waterproof Fore-Tex 2 layer fabric that also manages to be breathable while keeping you dry. It also has a 2-piece hood construction that rolls flat and can be stowed when not needed. Available in Aztec Blue and High-rise Grey, the unisex collection is available to buy online at www.thenorthface.co.uk and in select The North Face stores now.
