Jaguars maul the Ravens at NFL London

NFL in London is now 10 years old, officially, and the Jacksonville Jaguars made the memorable occasion all about them with a devastating victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Jaguars Jason Myers - Jaguars v Ravens

Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis caught three of four touchdowns expertly darted to the end zone by quarterback Blake Bortles as the “home” team romped to a 44-7 win. The Jags have now one three of the five games they’ve played in London, the three W’s coming consecutively.

Putting a shut down performance on the Ravens, the Jags limited their opposition to a meagre 186 yards of offense, meaning Baltimore didn’t even manage to get up the 100-yard field twice, effectively. The win puts the Jags at 2-1 in the recently launched NFL 2018 season, a great start for the once maligned team.

Joe Flacco Ravens Flop - Jaguars v Ravens

With a stuttering Joe Flacco unable to move his team into the points throughout the game, stand-in quarter back Ryan Mallet managed a 6-yard pass to Benjamin Watson with 3 minutes remaining in the game to prevent a total shutout. It felt like a pity point, allowed by a buoyant Jags team that had players giving jubilant TV interviews on the sidelines by the third quarter.

Jags TD - Jaguars v Ravens

Due to it’s one-sided nature, it wasn’t the best game for a neutral to watch, and made nightmare viewing for the thousands of traveling and local Ravens fans. However, the event at Wembley was a superb showcase for the explosive sport that is now the fastest growing professional sport in the UK.

The Jaguars roar on but there’s more to come!

There are three more matchups still to be played from the NFL London Games, between the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, the Arizona Cardinals and LA Rams and the Minnesota Vikings vs the Cleveland Browns. While most of the tickets have now sold, there are still some to be found, including hospitality packages. Click here for tickets and info.
