This year’s Super Bowl 52, the climax of the NFL season, takes place in Minneapolis between New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles (featuring British player Jay Ajayi).
With ground temperature predicted to hit -14 degrees Celsius, it’ll be one of the coldest Super Bowls, and one of the coldest sporting finals, in history.
To mark the occasion, two-time Super Bowl winner Osi Umenyiora and fellow former NFL player Jason Bell helped sculpt a one-of-a-kind trophy to mark the ice-cold occasion. This year’s Super Bowl is expected to attract millions of views from across the world, with a half-time performance from Justin Timberlake. On the back of a new album launch, the global superstar will be performing at the Minnesota Vikings’ stadium in Minneapolis. This will be Timberlake’s third time performing at the Super Bowl, giving him the distinction of having the most appearances by an individual entertainer. He previously performed at Super Bowls XXXV and XXXVIII.
The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year. Last year’s show was the most-watched musical event of all-time across all platforms and the most-watched Super Bowl Halftime performance in history through broadcast and digital channels, reaching more than 150 million unique people, garnering more than 80 million views and totalling 260 million minutes watched. Super Bowl LII and Halftime Show will be broadcast by NBC, as well as BBC One and Sky Sports Main event here in the UK, live from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota.
Super Bowl LII marks Pepsi’s sixth year as title sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime Show and 16th year as an NFL partner. Pepsi and the NFL have teamed again to provide fans with a halftime experience worthy of pop-culture’s biggest stage.
