Collette Cooper debuts new single at Soho.Live Jazz Week

Collette Cooper has a unique brand of sultry and soulful jazz that has made her the darling of jazz and blues radio stations as well as some of the most reputable jazz performance venues. Her memorable voice and performance style has also helped the solo artist build a faithful following among lovers of jazz and blues.

With her latest single “Don’t Throw Your Love Away”, Cooper pines over a love on the brink. It’s a classic nocturnal jazz vibe with a rolling, smooth 4-piece musical arrangement. Anchored by a double bass and shuffling percussion, Don’t Throw Your Love Away conjures images of smoke-filled bars, whisky on rocks and large glasses of red. The piano accompaniment provides beautifully accented support, as does the muted trumpet. The band has crafted an immersive backdrop that flourishes in places, but is simultaneously sparse enough for Cooper’s rich-but-raw vocals to sore with emotion. We were fortunate enough to make it down to Soho member’s bar Quo Vadis during Soho.Live Jazz Week to see Cooper debut her latest single as part of a live set.
