Equinox, the high-performance lifestyle fitness club, is putting City workers through their world-record paces on Thursday 28th November with the launch of ‘Bishopsgate Bolt’ – a cutting edge running track that pits participants against the world’s fastest runner in a virtual setting, right in the heart of the City.

The 20-metre-long, two-lane track is designed to determine each participant’s 10 metre sprint time with a five-metre run up and ending, ensuring the runner is reaching peak speed to record their fastest possible time. The second lane will feature LED chevrons that light up to display the time it takes for the current fastest person on earth to run 10 metres, so the runner can put themselves to the test against the world’s best.
City workers will be invited to take to the track on Thursday 28th November between the hours of 8am – 4pm at Bishops Square. State-of-the-art laser technology will track the finish line, recording each participant’s 10-metre time. Those that record the fastest times could then win a year’s membership at the brand-new Equinox Bishopsgate club, so even if participants don’t break the world record they can still benefit from Equinox’s state-of-the-art facilities and train like an athlete for a year.
The Bishopsgate Bolt will mark the arrival of Equinox Bishopsgate. The exciting new fitness club, opening on the 10th December 2019, will offer members an unmatched experience, including science-fuelled personal training, nutrition coaching, private Pilates, spa services, a luxury lounge and over 100 group fitness classes a week.
Furthermore, two new Equinox signature workouts will launch in the City-based club for the first time in the UK; The Pursuit, an immersive and tech-driven cycling class which uses leader board gaming to ignite competition, and the first Equinox signature heated yoga studio.
