Firle Beacon set in the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park in Sussex, the event makes for a perfect summer day out and is lined up to be a petrolhead’s dream. Firle Beacon will be packed with Rally, Sprint and Supercar displays and demonstrations over two unique, challenging courses, with access-all-areas meet-and-greets with drivers and their cars and a multitude of entertainment, food and drink.
Supercars dating from 1911 – such as a pre-World War One KRIT with an engine of 9.2 CC – until the present day will be on display within the Supercar Paddock and spectators can also see them in action as they take on an adrenaline-fuelled standing sprint course.
The supercar collection is as diverse as it is impressive, ranging from a 2004 Nissan World Series, currently in RB7 Red Bull livery to the booming 5.0 V8 of a 2018 Ford/RTR Mustang. Super in every conceivable way, the collection features outrageous American muscle cars, historic vehicles ahead of their time, lightweight speedsters, and performance sports racers filling the paddock with sound and fury.
Firle Beacon Schedule
- Three paddocks spanning 60s Supercars, 40 Retro and 100 Rally cars, open to all visitors.
- A world-class collection of Supercars in the Supercar Paddock, ranging from a 2004 Nissan World Series currently in RB7 Red Bull livery to a brand-new Aston Martin BDX, and even the booming 5.0 V8 of a 2018 Ford/RTR Mustang. Displays include:
- The Rally Demonstration – see the rally cars in action, starting at the main gate over the two-mile rally stage, with over 100 cars speeding by at 30 second intervals, ending with an exhilarating climb up the Firle Beacon Hill.
- Supercar Sprint – the cars in the Supercar Paddock will take part in a high-octane ¼ mile standing sprint.
- Minis – a collection of the earliest Minis including Pickups and one of the most famous – Mr. Bean’s very own mini!
- Private Collections – from Open Wheelers to Classics.
- Barn Find Rally Cars – see how rally cars really look when found prior to restoration.
- NASCAR – celebrating stock-car racing.
- The chance to meet the drivers in all-access areas.
Firle Beacon will be a celebration of 90 years of Rally in the UK, featuring some of the most legendary cars from across the decades including:
- British Rally Champion, Colin McRae’s iconic 1997 rally-winning Subaru Impreza WRC.
- A special collection of cars driven by Rally Champion, Russell Brookes from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s – including three Mk2 Escorts, two Opel Mantas, a Sierra Cosworth, Chevette HSR, together with a Group A Astra.
- Some of the fastest, most powerful, and sophisticated vehicles from Retro Rallycross & Group B.
Local pub The Ram, owned by the Firle Estate, will be transformed for Saturday night entertainment. Expect DJs at a free party for all Saturday Firle Beacon ticketholders to attend after the event, with drinks and food available for purchase.
