Soundwave Croatia kicks of this week and if you’re lucky enough to be heading to The Garden in Tisno, Croatia, there are five acts in particular that you won’t want to miss.
Jay Electronica will be headlining this year’s festival, joined by other top acts including Detroit hip-hop beasts Slum Village. You may know them for their cheeky ‘love song’ Selfish created in collaboration with Kanye West, but the dudes from SV were also the group of legendary music producer J. Dilla so if you don’t already know about them, you’ll want to check them out.
Celebrated British producer and DJ Mr Scruff will be sharing his brand of funky electronic music with the masses, while British soul singers Alice Russell & Fatima will be entertaining with powerful and rich vocals. Our other recommendation is the inimitable Mala, the man who brought the soul to dubstep and one half of the Digital Mystikz crew.
Many other rising and respected acts will also be providing the sounds at one of Europe’s finest music festivals, including drum & bass legends LTJ Bukem and DJ Marky, the legendary Channel One Sound system, and one of the world’s most respected selectors Alexander Nut.
