SurfacePro-BackGriffin Tech showed off some awesome accessories at CES 2016, kit that will help you get the most out of your precious tech and keep it safe.

SurfacePro - GriffinThere were a couple of bits we loved in particular though, such as the Survivor Slim for Surface Pro 4. I’m typically not a fan of tablet cases as they’re usually impractical and can be an extra thing to carry (and lose) when you need to use your tablet. The Survivor Slim is the total opposite of that.

It hugs the Surface Pro 4 tight and not only does it make it easier to use the tablet, it adds function while remaining slim.

It’s the perfect complimentary case for the newest Surface Pro tablet, protecting it from drops with a rigid multi-layer design featuring co-molded TPE, polycarbonate plastic and an interior silicone layer to cushion the tablet and absorb shocks. The case also has a kickstand and touch-through screen shield for top protection and practicality.

New USB-C Accessories

USB-C is set to become the new standard, so naturally Griffin is ahead of the curve and showed off a host of new accessories for USB type C connectors. Utilising the reversible and high-speed connector, these products will be the first to be covered by Griffin’s new Guaranteed for Life warranty program.

USB-C is a universal port that will adopted by the majority of products and may even be the port that unites main platform rivals Android and Apple. The new range from Griffin includes adapters that will allow people to bridge the gap between their existing tech and the tech that is yet to come.

Other than it’s universal appeal, USB-C can charge laptops and be used to transfer files and data at extremely fast speeds. The Griffin Apple BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C port connector Power Cable prevents accidents as it will pop off safely if the cable is under stress or suddenly pulled by a trip. The small magnetic connector is only 12.8mm deep so it can remain connected when not in use. It should be available from April this year.

A series of products most likely to prove popular are the Griffin USB-C to USB-A adapter and the USB-C to Micro USB Cable. USB-A and Micro USB are the current common standards for mobile phones, keyboards and tablets etc. and this neat little product will help you keep the (many) cables you have.

The PowerJolt SE USB-C and PowerBlock USB-C are among the first portable charging solutions compatible with USB-C. For cars and on-the-go charging, these Power units from Griffin will bring rapid portable charging to everyone who owns a USB-C product.

One of the most interesting products we saw from Griffin however was the PowerMate USB-C, a tool for MacBook users that allows for thousands of customisable controls. Now with USB-C compatibility, PowerMate USB-C allows people to control a variety of things on the new MacBook and expectedly new MacBooks to come. The programmable knob makes scrolling through music, movies, spreadsheets and Finder windows effortlessly. In creative tools, panning, zooming and brush controls for example can be easily personalised and accessed.
