Britain’s Bright Young Sparks Believe Cheese Grows On Trees – Really

lSemi Hard Cheese

What do these two things have in common? We’ll give you a clue: they’re both called cheese. But according to one third of primary school children – who shouldn’t even know about the one on the right – think that the one on the left is also a plant. Really.

According to a study released today by the British Nutritional Foundation, 29 per cent of primary school children think that cheese comes from plants, one in ten secondary school children believe that tomatoes grow under the ground, and nearly one in five (18 per cent) of primary school children say that fish fingers come from chicken.

Shocked? We are. Our schools and parents have a lot to answer for and if they’re falling short at letting kids know that fish fingers aren’t chicken, we’re in serious trouble. Want to read more about the report’s findings heDD here.
