XBox One Price and Launch Confirmed for November

press1

Following their recent heavily criticised XBox One launch event, Microsoft started big at this year’s E3, kicking off proceedings with an exclusive first look @ Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain running gameplay footage from the XBox One.

Perhaps, but I guess it’s worth a try. Anyway, given that they said their E3 presentation would be “all about the games” they did show off some exciting nextgen titles including stylised open-world shooter Sunset Overdrive, the “beyond AI” racing revolution Forza 5, the potentially awesome Project Spark that let’s you create your own games, Battlefield 4 in 60fps, Tital Fall, open world zombie action thriller Dead Rising 3, all new Halo and the return of cult classic beat’em up Killer Instinct, exclusive to XBox One.

They also showed off some very special looking crossover SmartGlass integration possibilities, our favourite being the ability to intuitively design and manipulate the environments you can create in Project Spark. But most importantly, we now have a price and a release month for the XBox One!

Microsoft’s XBox One price and launch confirmed for November this year at $499 US, €499 and £429 here in the UK, and we think it’s a fair price if that includes the all-seeing Kinect 2.0 bundled in. However, we expect there to be staggered prices announced in the near future depending on hard drive size etc. What do you think of the announcements from today’s Microsoft presentation? It was definitely an improvement on the last showing, but still some vital detail that needs to be hashed out and put in black and white, particularly RE: used games.
