R&B music has a new rising star act by the name of Dora Martin, featuring Jermaine Riley and Cherri V, both acclaimed solo acts in their own right.
The video, directed by Jermaine’s younger brother, the talented Shaun Riley is a moody and edgy affair paying tribute to Dora Martin’s London roots and showcasing the pair’s unique fashion styles, setting them apart from other current acts and artists in the charts today. Another refreshing feature of this new act is they sing R&B in their native London accents, avoiding the Americanisastion typically associated with R&B music internationally.
The song itself, ‘Skyline’, is catchy and features some strong melodies, but it doesn’t sound much like anything else we’ve heard before so it’s tough to put it in a box, the duo themselves prefer to refer to their music as “Alternative R&B” and we’re inclined to agree, no other tag quite fits them.
