Jose Cuervo launches Instagram series helping Britons in lockdown make bar-quality tequila cocktails using everyday kitchen ingredients
For those Brits more interested in cocktails than cooking during the time of the coronavirus, Jose Cuervo has just the tequila-themed tonic in the form of its new Instagram series, Ready Steady Cuervo.
The bi-weekly show sees two guests from the world of mixology and beyond use their creativity to fashion-up delicious tequila cocktails using nothing more than Jose Cuervo Especial® and everyday ingredients found in many people’s kitchens.
Viewers of the Instagram show are encouraged to recreate the Jose Cuervo cocktails at home, and drink in the pleasure of having made a world-class libation with ingredients that might normally be tucked away at the backs of their fridges and kitchen cabinets.
Two such recipes made with Jose Cuervo Especial® and basic store-bought ingredients are:
Cuervo Morejito by The Amateur Mixologist
- 60ml Jose Cuervo Especial tequila
- 15ml fresh lime juice
- 15ml sugar syrup (2:1 sugar to water)
- Handful of basil leaves
- 5 cucumber slices
- 3 dashes balsamic vinegar
Parsley & Time by Tom Dyer
- Large bunch fresh parsley
- 40ml Jose Cuervo Especial Reposado
- 20ml Port
- 30ml Lemon juice
- 15ml Sugar syrup
- 30ml Apple Juice
- Garnish: Parsley foam and sprig of parsley
- After each episode the full cocktail recipes will be shared on Jose Cuervo’s social media channels for fans to recreate at their leisure. Followers will also have the chance to enter a competition to win a year’s supply of tequila.

Jose Cuervo launched the online series in a bid to help people all over the UK enjoy bar-quality tequila cocktails in their own home using ingredients they may happen to have already purchased during a regular food shop. The show was also created to shine a light on the nation’s incredibly skilled and creative bartenders during what is an extremely challenging time for them.
While each episode will be fronted by two mixology maestros, viewers are very much encouraged to be innovative and develop their own Jose Cuervo kitchen cocktails and share their cocktail creations on social media.
